In Hawai’i, "Aloha" encompasses much more than a simple greeting —it’s a way of being. By breaking it down, we find "Alo," meaning presence, and "Ha," meaning breath. This class invites you to cultivate a deep, mindful connection with your breath, the earth, and the lineage of those who came before us. Through a gentle, flowing sequence of postures, you'll embrace the spirit of Aloha by grounding yourself in gratitude and compassion. The Grace of Hula Meets Yoga

Class Description:

Immerse yourself in the soulful intersection of Hula and Yoga in this flowing practice, "The Grace of Hula Meets Yoga." Hula, the heartbeat of Hawai’i, is a dance where every movement, expression, and gesture tells a story, bringing the dancer and dance into a harmonious union. Similarly, Yoga invites us to blend body, mind, and spirit in a graceful dance of self-discovery and presence. In this class, we will not focus on learning specific Hula steps or choreography. Instead, we will explore the essence of Hula through the lens of Yoga. As Kumu Hula OʻBrian Eselu beautifully says, "Hula cannot exist in a world of hatred, anger, jealousy, or envy. It has to be pure Aloha. So, I am going to teach you love, because only then will the true essence of Hula show itself." Through mindful movements, breathwork, and meditation, we'll embody the spirit of Aloha, allowing the grace of Hula to flow through our Yoga practice. Kitaido Yoga
